BINDU DE STOPPANI
Bindu began her journey in film and television, as an actress (The Beach & 28 Days Later). Switching her focus, she moved behind the camera, and began working as a Scriptwriter, Director and Producer .
She wrote, produced and directed her first short film in 2000, THINGS I NOTICE, THINGS YOU SEE starring (a then unknown) Michael Fassbender, followed by three further shorts GESUNDHEIT! (winner of the Prix Europa Prize), THREE, and THE KISS.
In 2012 Bindu wrote and directed her first feature film JUMP (co produced by Hugofilm Features, Manmade Films & RSI – Radiotelevisione svizzera), which won five awards at the 2012 BIFF festival including Best Director and Best Feature Film.
Her second feature film, FINDING CAMILLE, shot in Switzerland, Italy and Bosnia, premiered at the International Rome Film Festival in October 2017 to great acclaim. It was broadcast in Germany, France and Switzerland in 2018 (on Swiss television and ARTE), and following a cinema release in Switzerland, was screened in UK cinemas by the independent cinema group Kino.
Bindu was born in India, grew up in Devon, the USA, Italy and Switzerland and after many years living in bustling London, she is now based by the sea, in the South East of England, with her husband and two children, where she runs Bright Films.
Bindu is bi-lingual in Italian and English (writing and developing projects in both languages) and speaks conversational German and French.
